ROI Art Prize 2019

ROI ART PRIZE 2019…

As an annual, acquisitive art prize of $10,000 funded and run by the ROI Owners Corporation, the RO Art Prize is unique in Victoria, if not Australia. Now in its eighth year it continues to gain respect and interest, in 2018 attracting more than 50 entries from established and emerging artists. From the first year’s winner in 2012, the late Gordon Bennett, there has been an impressive list of entrants and winners.

The winning work will hang in the main entrance foyer of the ROI complex, 4 Bik Lane, Fitzroy North, for a year, after which it will become part of the ROI Owners Corporation Art collection. With previous winning works, it will then be displayed in one of the common areas of the complex for the enjoyment of owners, residents and visitors

There is also a People’s Choice award with the selected artwork receiving a prize of $1,000. The winning artwork will be displayed at the ROI for 12 months and auctioned at the 2020 presentation event.

The prize is open to recent works in any two-dimensional medium by artists who live, work or exhibit in Yarra, Melbourne, Moreland or Darebin municipalities. The ROI Art Prize and the People’s Choice Prize will be announced at an event on Thursday 28 November 2019 at the ROI.

Entries close 5pm Thursday 7 November 2019. Read the eligibility and selection criteria and access the entry form HERE.

The ROI Art Prize is sponsored by Nelson Alexander and WinConnect.
